Soothing decor features Philip's original stained glass works. Our guests comment that we haven't forgotten anything, and that is because we have enjoyed spending time here ourselves. Thinking of a gourmet meal but lacking the inspiration? Browse our selection of Island recipe books for ideas. And what speaks to summer more than homemade ice cream? In between the inevitable trips to Cow's (a PEI institution), use our ice cream maker for your own delectable soft-serve ice cream in no time! At Seascape Chalet, our aim is to provide all the amenities of home that you would expect -- plus some pleasant surprises.

Seascape Chalet offers two comfortable bedrooms, each with Queen sleigh bed, seating, and adjacent bath.
Large closets and dressers ensure more than enough storage for all your belongings.

Our Master Bedroom features a soothing decor and ensuite bath. Wake up ready to hit the water – grab a beach towel from the closet, prepare a quick picnic lunch over breakfast, and you’re on your way!

Relax in the calming decor of the seashell bath

Our ensuite master bath features a granite countertop, porcelain tile floor and relaxing decor. Our aim is relaxation for you on your PEI vacation, and we hope this will not disappoint!

Our second bedroom, airy and also with a Queen bed, is a crucial part of our eco-friendly method for cooling the chalet in summer. Simply prop open the doors with the stoppers provided, and open some of the numerous casement windows in the living room for a pleasant natural cooling effect throughout the chalet. It really does work!

Our Isabella room -- fit for a (Spanish) Queen!

Start your day with an invigorating shower in our “dragonfly” bath.

Our second bathroom is a public bath located just outside our second bedroom. It is available for everyone's use, including any additional guests who might be sleeping on the pull-out sofabed in our sunroom. Known as our "dragonfly" bath, named for the beautiful creatures that you may find on your morning walks and which are sure to bring a smile to your face. What new memories will you create today?

The sunroom is a perfect spot for relaxation.

This is one of my favourite spots. Curl up with a good book while soaking in the warmth and splendid water view of New London Bay and the protected lands of the PEI National Park.

In the sunroom, you will find our extensive collection of books for both adults and children.

A sofabed provides additional sleeping accommodations for two.

PEI North Shore Attractions

Enjoy your summer vacation on the north shore of PEI, Canada!

  • #1 Island destination in North America, Travel+Leisure
  • Best Golf/Travel Destination in North America, Toronto Sun
  • "an overlooked gem...for anyone who enjoys outdoor adventures in wide-open spaces", Canada.com

Why has PEI received these accolades? Read on to find out...

(Or browse our Activities QuickLINKS for an instant glimpse of some of the many possibilities that will make your visit to the Island a memorable one).

Become part of an annual revitalization ritual

Prince Edward Island comes alive during the summer months. Shaking off the cold blanket of winter, the Island collectively greets the arrival of Spring with a newfound sense of life and purpose that builds to a crescendo during summer, when the Island is its most vibrant. Nature and culture are celebrated, with music, dance, theatre, arts, crafts, and fine dining competing for your attention with an endless array of outdoor activities on land and sea. Summer on PEI is carefree, and the Cavendish north shore area has long been the hub of summertime excitement, engrossing Islanders and visitors alike in an annual ritual of revitalization.

Our guests enjoy the grassed parkland and steps to the shoreline in front of cottage

Open spaces, pastoral seaside setting

It all begins with an appreciation of the spectacular natural setting. The shifting sands of the living dune environment extend for miles along the PEI north shore, providing shelter for endangered species such as the piping plover), a pristine environment for the study of unique geological formations and ecosystems, and miles upon miles of beaches for you to enjoy (find locations). Heritage roads cut through swaths of forest by the Island's early settlers provide glimpses through treed canopies of the rolling farmland and river vistas beyond.

But there are infinite ways to experience the Island. Whether it be hiking or cycling the well-known Confederation Trail that traverses the Island from tip to tip or some of the many smaller community trails (we recommend the nearby Breadalbane Nature Trail, which also provides a trailhead for the Confederation trail) or enjoying the spectacular views while teeing up on one of its teeing up on one of the nearby premier golf courses, trying your luck at deep sea fishing in the Gulf of St. Lawrence (such as nearby Graham's at the Stanley Bridge wharf), enjoying a sumptuous lobster supper -- that quintissential pei summertime feast -- experiencing uplifting jazz or classical music resonating throughout one of the Island's most distinctive churches, or the down-home Maritime sounds of a ceilidh ("KAY-lee") shaking the rafters of a local Stanley Bridge community hall, there is plenty to captivate a spirit set free a thousand miles from home. There are a million things to do on this "million acre farm," so we know that you will not be left wanting. And before you leave, you will surely have found some insight into the "Island way of life."

Seascape Chalet - tranquility in the heart of the PEI north shore

Fortunately, Seascape Chalet's ideal location allows guests to be as near to or as far from the action as you would like, so you really do have the best of all worlds. Located in the north shore fishing village of Stanley Bridge less than 5 minutes from PEI National Park beaches and all the attractions of Cavendish, Seascape Chalet allows guests to be in the thick of the action at a moment's notice. But the tranquil setting on a private peninsula jutting into picturesque New London Bay also provides you with the opportunity to beachcomb the peaceful shore, paddle a kayak up the Hope or Stanley Rivers or out to the dunes alongside the fishing boats embarking on their daily journey, or simply lay back and relax on the sundeck and against this scenic backdrop let all your cares drift away. Do it all or nothing -- after all, there's always next year...

Planning your Prince Edward Island vacation

Allow plenty of time for stopping to photograph the scenery, or perhaps for trying to capture on camera that red fox that just poked its head out of the trees alongside the road!

Horseback Riding
-- Cavendish Trail Rides (3 min.)

Harness Racing

Horse lovers might also want to experience Islanders' love of harness racing. The season reaches its climax in Charlottetown with the prestigious Gold Cup and Saucer Race during Old Home Week in mid August, and earlier visitors can see harness racing during the mid-July Summerside Lobster Carnival, but a true understanding of the love of harness racing on PEI is perhaps best gained at the small tracks scattered around the Island.

-- Red Shore's Calendar of live harness racing

Scenic Drives

> The Junction Road in Hartsville (15 min.) and Millman Road in Irishtown (15 min.) are also nearby.

> For a longer excursion, the central location of the Cavendish region allows one to venture either “up west” to experience the Acadian culture of the Evangeline region and native Mi'kmaq culture on Lennox island, or “down east” via the Points East coastal drive to some of the oldest small towns on PEI. Either tip of the island can be reached within a 90 minutes to 2 hours, making either of these scenic drives easily accommodated into your itinerary as a day trip.

But perhaps our guests say it best:

The past 11 days have been a great family vacation, and staying at your property had a lot to do with our tremendous experience. From the moment we first stepped into the chalet, we were "breathless," as the decor and scenery were unbelievable. Our two daughters enjoyed immensely the swings and toys during our stay as they both entertained them on a constant basis.

Philip & Dawn, the both of you should be very proud of your property, as the chalet is beautiful, and you have provided everything needed to make a family vacation a great experience. We will definitely be wanting to stay here again on our next visit to PEI.

Autumn on PEI

Confederation Trail in Fall
Couples, golfers and naturalists will love PEI in the fall!

Autumn on PEI is idyllic for couples. Warm days, romantic nights in front of the fireplace, long walks on deserted beaches, perfect weather for hiking and biking, relaxed golf, spectacular foliage, and the feeling that you have the entire Island all to yourself! [Top 10 list]

Although PEI is known as a great summertime destination, more visitors are discovering what Islanders have long known -- that autumn on Prince Edward Island easily rivals summer in its attractions and may indeed be the best season to experience what the Island has to offer! Those with flexible vacation schedules, a love of long walks along deserted beaches, cycling or hiking in wide-open spaces amid rolling pastoral or oceanfront scenery, testing their golf skills against a different course each day, or simply driving leisurely along scenic backroads will find that they have to sacrifice nothing but a swim in order to enjoy spectacular fall foliage and the feeling that you have the entire Island to yourself!

Fall on PEI is a photographer's heaven and a cyclist's dream. The Island takes on a different aura in autumn, as the changing colors of the season transform our scenic vistas. The reds, oranges and yellows of deciduous trees juxtaposed with evergreens, warm-hued grain and potato fields and blue sky and sea make our fall foliage stand out in a region of the world known for its autumn brilliance.

Cyclists visiting PEI for the first time are often surprised to find that its low elevation can translate into such undulating terrain. For those who enjoy this challenge, the north shore region offers great dirt road paths on heritage roads -- some of the oldest on the Island -- which are especially vibrant in autumn. For flatter terrain, there is the Gulf Shore Way in the PEI National Park which provides scenic seaside views, and the 400 km long Confederation Trail which cyclists can travel from tip to tip along a former railway bed which features easily manageable grades and views of the interior of the Island. Hunter River, Breadalbane, and Kensington are the nearest trail heads.

For hikers, there are many community trails, including the nearby Homestead Trail and the Breadalbane Nature Trail, which provide seaside and riverside views, respectively. Other recommended short trails nearby include the Cape Tryon Trail, Devil's Punchbowl Trail, Trout River Community Park Trail, and the Dunk River Trail, but you also can't go wrong walking some of the nearby heritage roads in autumn.

You don't need to miss a ceilidh, lobster supper, or romantic walk on the beach. Sacrifice nothing more than a swim and bring an extra layer of clothing (see weather) to call Cavendish beach, your favorite golf course, or virtually the entire Island your own. Take advantage of our discounted rates, warm September days and crisp evenings spent lounging in front of the fireplace, scenic vistas with a complex palate of colors during our extended fall foliage season, and full slate of fall activities that continue well into October.

There is something for everyone on PEI during autumn, including some of our most popular annual festivals and events (more here), such as Fall Flavours and the PEI International Shellfish Festival. Or create your own discovery of PEI's arts and heritage, among the many sites including the nearby PEI Farmer's Bank, a national historic site due to its influence on the credit union movement in North America and the adjacent Doucet House, one of the oldest on PEI and which provides insight into Acadian culture.

There is still much to do on PEI after summer turns to autumn, so check your calendars and Escape to the Island this fall!

The numerous high-quality amenities are what make us stand out.

Our guests continually tell us that "everything we needed was here!", and we are proud to announce that the quantity and quality of these amenities have earned us a 4.5 star rating from TourismPEI, which few PEI vacation homes have attained.

Upon entering Seascape Chalet, you will immediately notice our spacious Great Room with comfortable living, dining and fully equipped kitchen areas under an expansive open beam cathedral ceiling.

Adjoining the Great Room is a sunroom with easy-opening casement windows and cordless blinds for ideal temperature control and uncompromised views. The sunroom opens onto 800 sq ft of wrap-around front deck equipped with patio furniture for relaxed outdoor living and scenic views of the bay. At the back is a propane BBQ for outdoor cooking and kayaks for exploring the bay and the Hope River estuary.

Enjoy panoramic water views while relaxing and reading a book, or have a quiet meal while taking in the gorgeous sunsets in a pastoral setting.
